Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she earned the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by her four brothers and sisters. The idea of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials after moving from New York. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. In contrast to her successful professional life, Delaney's personal one is not as successful and happy. She is talented and beautiful, has battled addiction to alcohol prior to that. She has also had marriages that ended in failure two times. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
