Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she won an Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four brothers and sisters. When she was a kid she longed to be a reporter for the court. However, after graduating from high school, and moving in New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. The role she was given was that of a child's innocence in the soap-opera All My Children. Delaney is an acclaimed actor who has appeared in many films, TV movies, and dramas. Personally, her professional has not been successful and happy. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. She was divorced in 2005 and was denied custody of the only child she had.
