Born in Thessaloniki in Greece, she was raised in Alexandroupoli. Her mother was nursing. Her father was born in the Greek community of Loutra. Her most well-known role is a double role in the eponymous characters on Liv and Maddie, the Disney Channel teen sitcom, Liv and Maddie (2013) and playing Mal the her daughter in Maleficent as Maleficent's daughter in Descendants (2015) and in the sequel Descendants 2 (2017).
